New Mount: Darkwater Skate

As from patch 7.1 a new mount has become available at the Darkmoon Faire.  The Darkwater Skate is available from the vendor Galissa Sundew on the Darkmoon Island (near the pier) for just 500 Darkmoon Daggermaw.  

These Darkmoon Daggermaw can be fished up easily all around the island in open water and pools and you will get at least 1 per cast at top level fishing.  If you are lucky you can also fish up a Bloated Thresher which contains 5-10 Darkmoon Daggermaw fish.  If you have enough gold, and don't like fishing, the Darkmoon Daggermaw are not soulbound and therefore can be bought from the auction house.

The Darkwater Skate is a water mount only usable underwater and has an increased swim speed like the Turtle mounts.  Be careful because if you jump out of the water the mount will despawn.

Falcosaur: Snowfeather Hatchling Part #1

 

Getting the Snowfeather Hatchling starts with the world quest in Highmountain called Snowfeather Swarm!  This is located on the north coast of Highmountain.  The world quest is to cull Snowfeather Falcosaurs until the progress bar reaches 100%, but to spawn the hatchling pet you need to kill the matriarch located at 34:22.  Once killed the Orphaned Snowfeather will spawn at 32:28.  The matriarch and the orphan will still be there even when you have completed the world quest.

 You must feed the orphaned Hatchling the special food, Smoked Elderhorn, which you can buy from Amisi Azuregaze, Innkeeper in the Legerdemain Lounge, in Dalaran as well as other places.  Provided you have the food in your bag there will be the option to feed the orphaned hatchling if you click on it.  The Snowfeather Hatchling will then appear in your pet journal.  Summoning the pet will give you the first quest.  This starts the quest chain.  After each quest is completed the Hatchling needs to rest and the next quest will be available after the next reset.

Quest 1: Raising your Snowfeather - The Snowfeather Hatchling looks at you timidly, it seems to look at you to help it survive and grow, raise your Snowfeather Hatchling to level 25.

Luckily it was pet battle bonus week and so I levelled my hatchling using the two battle method of Courageous Yon and another battle master in Pandaria and now he appears to trust me a bit.

Quest 2: The Smell of Orcs – You’ve noticed that your Snowfeather Hatchling shakes when Orcs are nearby, take it somewhere to get used to the smell.  Take your Snowfeather Hatchling to the Broken Tusk in Orgrimmar.  Your hatchling seems to be more comfortable, it will need time to recover from this adventure.

Felcosaur pets and mounts (!)

With patch 7.1 there are four new felcosaur pets called Snowfeather Hatchling, Sharptalon Hatchling, Direbeak Hatchling and Bloodgazer Hatchling.  These pets are available to collect when a specific world quest is up and lead to a long quest chain which rewards Ultimate Battle-Training Stone.  In order to collect the pet you need to kill the matriarch in the world quest area and an orphaned hatchling will spawn if you feed the hatchling a specific food it will become your pet. Summoning this pet will start the quest chain which involves dungeons, raids, pvp and pet battles to complete.

Four felcosaur mounts that match the pets have also been data mined, it is not yet known where they will come from.
