Argus: Fel-Spotted Egg

On Argus there are quite a lot of rares which drop vanity items such as mounts, pets and toys.  There are three rare panthera which have a chance to drop a fel-spotted egg.  After 5 days these eggs hatch and have a chance to contain mounts (Felglow Mana Ray, Darkspore Mana Ray, Scintillating Mana Ray, Vibrant Mana Ray), or pets (Docile Skyfin, Fel-Afflicted Skyfin) or Aged Yolk, a food.

The three panthera are located one in each of the Argus zones.

The eggs do not drop 100% but you are able to hold more than 1 in your bag at a time.  From my first 10 eggs I got:

Blizzcon 2017

Last weekend was Blizzcon 2017 and I had a virtual ticket.  With the purchase of the virtual ticket you got various in game items for Blizzard games such as the Nexus Razorback mount for Heroes of the Storm and a Murkromancer pet for Diablo III but for World of Warcraft you got two mounts

And the Stormwind Skychaser for alliance.

The mounts are two person flying mounts and they look really nice.

Announced at Blizzcon was also the new World of Warcraft expansion Battle For Azeroth, a horde verses alliance expansion where players represent their faction the Mighty Horde or the alliance.  Can you tell what I play?  There will be 6 new allied races, two new continents, Kul Tiras and Zandalar, located in the great sea between Kalindor and Eastern Kingdoms, warfronts and unchartered islands to plunder.  Also coming sooner than the expansion is a new battleground and changes to levelling zones.  The expansion sounds awesome. I can't wait :)

Also announced at Blizzcon was that they are working on World of Warcraft Classic.  Many players have voiced that they want to play World of Warcraft in its original form, Vanilla, and so the developers have listened and they are going to create a classic server.  They said it will take some time because they want to get it right but that's something to look forward to for the nostalgic.  The only worry I have is that with many things when you go back to them several years later they don't seem as awesome as you remember.  Was dying continuously to the murlocs in Westfall while you collected 10 murloc eyes with only a 10% drop rate and their huge agro range meaning you often got overrun by them, was it that much fun?  Vanilla was hard and time consuming and fun because their were a lot of players around.  To group up with players there was no group finder you had to talk to people.  No flying until level 60, no mounts at all until level 20 and it cost a lot of gold, you had to save to be able to fly, I remember it well it took me a while.  Do I want to play like that again?  Will there be enough players around to give that retro feel we remember?  Will there be naked gnomes dancing for gold in Ironforge?  Well we won't know until we try so something else to look forward to :)

Legion Fishing: 7.3 New Rep Friends

In patch 7.3 six new fisherfriends have appeared in the zones around the Broken Isles. Much like Conjurer Margoss they would like you to turn something into them in order to build reputation and friendship and become best friends.

One of these Fisherfriends will be available each day.  The friends are:

Ilyssia of the Waters - Azsuna

Keeper Raynae - Val'sharah

Akule Riverhorn - Highmountain

Corbyn - Stormheim

Sha'leth - Suramar

Impus - Broken Shore

As you build your friendship with the fisherfriends you will be able to purchase various vanity items like pets and toys.  Becoming best friends with all six fisherfriends will also reward the achievement Fisherfriend of the Isles and  the reward of a new colour tint for your legendary (artifact) fishing rod.

This will involve a lot of fishing although the raid group set up, used by many to gain reputation with Margoss, is already being used, with several groups being available on the group finder every day. As well as the legendary fishing rod the new colouring will look really nice.

Hallows End 2017

The halloween themed holiday Hallow's End 2017 started on October 18th and runs until November 1st.  This holiday has many vanity items to collect including the much sought after Horseman's Reins mount which drops from the holiday boss the Headless Horseman.

Many vanity items can be purchased with Tricky Treats and new to collect for 2017 is a Exquisite Costume Set "Xavius" (200 treats), a pet called Naxxy (150 treats), and two toys Horse Head Costume (150 treats) and Horse Tail Costume (150 treats).

Tricky treats can be collected from pumpkin shaped Candy Buckets located all around Azeroth (including cataclysm areas), Northrend, Outland, and Pandarian.  These are usually located in inns. You can also get tricky treats every day from the daily holiday boss kill, headless horseman in Scarlet Monastery, from the daily quest Under the Crooked Tree to defeat Aria Sorrowheart, and from the daily quest Let the Fires Come!/Stop the Fires! to put out the fires started by the Headless Horseman in Brill or Razor Hill for horde.  In order to collect enough treats over the holiday period for all the new items (650 treats) I needed to use more than one character.  It is nice to have new content to do/collect with the holidays as often there is nothing new and I finished all the holiday achievements a few years ago.

From the quest Under the Crooked Tree you get a bag Hag's Belonging which contains some Tricky Treats but also has a chance to drop one of 4 witches hats, Hat of the First Sister, Hat of the Second Sister, Hat of the Third Sister or Hat of the Youngest Sister.

Last year despite doing this quest every day, and its annoying as Aria Sorrowheart does a fear more frequently than my 15 second interrupt cooldown, I did not get a single hat :( This year I was much luckier and managed to get three hats Second Sister, Third Sister and Youngest Sister.  These hats are in my wardrobe but can only be used during Hallow's End event.  I did look cool during this holiday though, I hope to get the final hat next year.

New Wild Pets on Argus: Antoran Wastes

Post patch 7.3 and the introduction of Argus I have also collected the new wild pets from Antoran Wastes. They are Antoran Bile Larva and Antoran Bilescourge
