Legion Pet Battles: WQ - Only Pets Can Prevent Forest Fires

This pet battle is located in Val'Sharah south of the Garden of the Moon flight point, just off the path on the right, look out for the flames.
In this world quest you need to put out the forest fires.  Talk to the Fragment of Fire, "lets do battle", to start the fight where you will fight three elemental pets.
Cackling Flame - good against mechanical/magic and poor against critter/undead.
Devouring Blaze - good against flying/beast and poor against mechanical/elemental.
Living Coals - good against mechanical and poor against critters.
The team I use for this is:
                Eternal Strider x2 (1,2,2)
                Dancing Water Skimmer (1,2,2)

Battle: start with the first Eternal Strider with (3) Pump, (2) Cleaning Rain, (3) Pump.  Continue to use pump unless the enemy is on low health in which case use (1) Water Jet.  Whenever one if your pets dies repeat the same rotation with the other two pets prioritising Pump unless enemy is low.

Falcosaur Hatchling: This fight is a little more RNG than some others but doable.  Swap the falcosaur in for any of the pets as they are all doing the same.  The safest method to win is to start with the falcosaur with Predatory Strike and Swarm selected and use just Predatory Strike before swapping out for the Eternal Strider/Dancing Water Skimmer.  With the Eternal Strider/Dancing Water Skimmer use (2) Cleansing Rain to get rid of Scorched Earth and then use (3) Pump whenever  possible, unless the enemy is low health, then use (1) Water Jet.  The third pet, Living Coals, has a shield which makes him take longer to kill but by the time your second aquatic pet is dead he should be low health and one final Predatory Strike attack from the falcosaur should win.  It is possible to start with the Falcosaur and use Swarm and then Predatory Strike before swapping out but there is a chance that the Cackling Flame gets a crit on him and then he will die, so the quicker swap out is safer.

Legion PVP: World Quests

There are some World Quests in Legion which reward honor for PVP, they are called Warden Tower Assault quests.  The zones Stormheim, Highmountain and Val'sharah each have two old Warden Towers, and each day one of the towers in each zone will have a world quest for Horde and the other ones for Alliance.  As horde in these WQs you will need to defeat the Alliance forces (NPCs) or players in the zone to 100% and kill the captain at the top of the tower.  Once in the area of these towers you will become PVP flagged.
Lady Sylvanas Windrunner "Greymane's forces hold this Warden tower.  Break their ranks!  Show no mercy!"

The towers are located as follows:
1 - Darkfollow's Spire - Val'Sharah
2 - Starstalker's Point - Val'Sharah
3 - Nightwatcher's Perch - Highmountain
4 - Cordana's Apex - Highmountain
5 - Whisperwind's Citadel - Stormheim
6 - Blackhawk's Bulwark - Stormheim

These world quests reward 300 honor and another reward of either gold, Order Resources, Artifact Power or a PVP reward of gear of Marks of Honor.  There are three of these towers up per day so you can get 900 honor a day from them.  Although the towers are in a PVP zone and you are PVP flagged there is very rarely any opposite faction players there and they are pretty much like a PVE quest.

There are also 4 other world quests which offer PVP rewards of 500 Honor plus the additional reward as above.  These world quests are located in, Aszuna - Operation Murloc Freedom, Val'sharah - Blackrook Rumble, Highmountain - Darkbrul Arena and Stormheim - Bareback Brawl.  Only one of these quests is up at any one time and they switch every 6 hours.  If you were online all day you could complete four of these quests and get 2000 honor.  (See upcoming post Legion PVP: WQ 500 honor)

These quests are a great way for non PVP to collect some of the PVP achievements and rewards. Happy collecting.

Falcosaur: Snowfeather Hatchling Part #2

Quest 3: Hunting Lesson: Northern Hawk Owl - Your Snowfeather Hatchling seems to get agitated when you are near other critters, none more so than the hawk owls of Highmountain.  It fluffs up its plumage and squarks loudly whenever one is nearby. It appears to have a primal need for predation.  It seems you will need to take our falcosaur out hunting.  Defeat 3 Northern Hawk Owls in Highmountain with your Snowfeather Hatchling.
Start the fight with the Snowfeather and then use any other level 25 pets.  These battles are fairly easy for the falcosaurs with Swarm and Predatory Strike it can almost solo all three pets.
The hatchling seems quite content with its victories, and settles in for a nap.

Quest 4: Allies in Highmountain - Your Snowfeather Hatchling emits a deep chittering growl when you pass near Thunder Totem, it must consider the Highmountain Tribe a threat to the flock.  Show him that you and it can work alongside the Highmountain tribe.  Complete 5 world quests in Highmountain with your Falcosaur out.
Any world quests in Highmountain count for this quest as long as you have your Falcosaur out.
The Hatchling trills at the sight of Thunder Totem, that is quite an improvement and now he needs some time to recover.

Quest 5: Snowfeather Team Up - Your Snowfeather Hatchling looks at you and emits a sort of squawking bark, it appears to want to do something together as a team.  Defeat 3 pet battle world quests using your Falcosaur.
For this quest your hatchling must be at your side before you begin a battle, must be your first pet to enter the battle and cannot die in battle.  Despite following these rules sometimes this quest was a little glitchy and the pet battle did not count towards the quest.  I just waited and tried again the next day.  Some pet battle world quests are easier than others to do with falcosaurs, particularly:
All Howl No Bite, Stand Up to Bullies, Azsuna Specimens and Wildlife Conservationist.  See my WQ pet battle guides for more info.
The Hatchling rams you softly with its head and trills he seems to like doing things with you quite a lot and, now he rests.

Quest 6: Deadly Prey -  After working together on recent pet battles, your Snowfeather Hatchling seems much more interested in your combat abilities.  It might learn a thing or two from watching you do battle with a powerful opponent.  Complete one Rare Elite World Quest with your Snowfeather Hatchling out.
An Elite Quest is any with a gold dragon around it and Rare Quests are blue so you need both of these.  For this we killed Marblub the Massive in Azsuna.
Now the hatchling looks at me with admiration and then rests.

Quest 7: Hunting Lesson: Spiketail Beaver - Your Snowfeather Hatchling has been interested in following beaver tracks recently, it must have found a new species to prey upon.  Defeat 3 Spiketail Beavers in Highmountain with your Snowfeather Hatchling.
Another easy fight, I used Mana Wyrmling and Cogblade Raptor along with the Falcosaur but as before any level 25 pets will do as the Falcosaur can almost solo it using Swarm and Predatory Strike, just swap in a different pet if he gets below 50% health to protect him.
The hatchling looks more confident and settles in for another nap.

To be continued... Falcosaur: Snowfeather Hatchling Part #3

Legion Pet Battles: WQ - Size Doesn't Matter

This pet battle is located in Azsuna.  Take the path south from the flight point, Felblaze Ingress, to the bridge.  The quest is below the bridge on the beach to the right, next to Hatecoil Warcamp.
In this world quest you need to defeat Blottis.
Blottis is an aquatic pet with an Elite buff which reduced all damage taken by 50% and also the Septic Secretion buff which deals 136 aquatic damage every round.  Blottis has increased damage against critters and dragonkin pets and reduced damage against flying and beast pets.
The team I used for this is:
           Sharptalon Hatchling (1,1,1)
           Obsidian Hatchling (1,1,1)
           Any Pet (only need two)

Battle: start with the Sharptalon Hatchling with (1) Swarm, (3) Predatory Strike and then (1) Swarm until the hatchling is dead.  Bring in the Obsidian Hatchling and use (2) Leap, (1) Bite and repeat until Blottis is dead.

Falcosaur Hatchling: I used a Sharptalon Hatchling in this pet battle, but you can easily swap for another falcosaur as they all have Swarm and Predatory Strike.  However as the falcosaur needs to stay alive you must swap it out before its health gets to low.  This could be after the predatory strike but in a few attempts I was unlucky and it died.  If that happens restart or swap the falcosaur hatchling out after the swarm to protect it.  In this case you will need a third pet with a big hit something like Albino River Calf.

Legion PVP: Introduction

In Legion there was a big change with PVP with the introduction of Honor Talents and Prestige levels.  As a player gains honor they move up through the honor levels gaining access to more talents every few levels.
Shaman Honor Talents showing the honor level they become available
On reaching honor level 50 originally a player could choose to reset their honor back to 0 and gain a Prestige level but, this also reset the talents and was changed in patch 7.1 because players complained, saying what would be the point of gaining the Prestige levels and resetting their honor if it gave them a disadvantage in PVP because they lost the extra talents.  Since then Prestige levels increase automatically and the talents are not reset.  The Prestige levels have various rewards including mounts, toys, pets, an artifact weapon and titles. (See upcoming post  Legion PVP: Prestige level 1-5).

Players can gain honor the usual way through areans and battlegrounds but there are also some PVP world quests that reward honor making it easier to gain the Prestige levels for non PVP players like me. (See upcoming post Legion PVP: World Quests).

There is also a PVP based reputation with the Talon's Vengeance.  You can only gain access to this reputation after completing one of the Falcosaur quest chains, and then gaining the reputation is quite difficult, and comes from collected tokens gained from killing players. (See upcoming post Legion PVP: Talon's Vengeance).

Guide to Legion First Aid

First Aid is a secondary profession that everyone can learn but it isn't and has never been, as far as I recall, very useful once you get to max level as the heal you get is not very big.  A bandage could give you 20-30% health back if you sit still for 8 seconds but in the middle of a fight is that really possible?  It could be a little useful to help your healers out and reduced down time between fights though if you have nothing else.
In legion you can learn Legion First Aid, in order to increase your maximum skill level to 800, from Olisarra the Kind in the First to Your Aid shop in the Dalaran Magnus Commerce Exchange.  You are able to learn this from first aid level 1 and will also learn all the levels in between. I have written this information as if you are starting from the maximum level of WOD first aid 700,  but if you need there is information on leveling 1-700 on the website WOW-Professions.com.

Legion first aid has a new type of recipe Cures of the Broken Isles.  These recipes are ways you can treat patients and are for completing the new quests.  At level 700 you can learn Treat Fever and Silkweave Bandage which is made from the new legion cloth Shal'dorei Silk

Levelling
700-730 - Make 45x Silkweave bandages. If you are Honored with the Wardens you can buy the recipe Feathered Luffa from Marin Bladewing in Azsuna and make Feathered Luffa between 720 and 730.  For this  you will need Pristine Falcosaur Feathers which can be collected from killing Falcosaurs.  At 730 learn Stabilize and  Silvery Salve which is made from Silver Mackerel.
730 -760 - Make 45x Silvery Salve.  You can also continue to make Feathered Luffa up until 760.  At 750 learn Treat Burns.  At 760 learn Silkweave Splint.
760-790 - Make 45x Silkweave Splint.
790-800 - You can only level by doing the rare drop first aid quests or Darkmoon Faire.  Do the first aid quest in Darkmoon Faire every time it is available as it gives 5 skill points.  At 800 learn Set Bone.

The Quests
In legion there is a new type of quest for first aid.  These are random, quite rare drops from mobs around the Broken Isles and come in the form of a note on which an individual or group of NPCs will request you to find and help them as they have become hurt whilst adventuring.  You must follow the map to the NPCs location and using your skills heal their burns or broken limbs.  Completing the quest will reward 5 first aid skill points. The note will tell you what you need to complete the quest.  Field Packs are purchased from the shop in Dalaran and you quite often also need splints or bandages.  It is important to note that you can only have one of these quests in your log at a time and another will not drop if you already have one you have not completed.

Achievements
There are three new first aid achievements.
Legion Medic - Obtain 800 skill points in first aid.
Is There a Medic in the Zone? - Come to the aid of 10 wounded travelers across the Broken Isles, complete 10 of the new first aid quests.
Field Medic - Come to the aid of all wounded travelers across the Broken Isles.  There are 16 different quests you must complete all of them for this achievement.  This achievement rewards the title Field Medic.  As first aid is being removed in BfA if you want this title you must complete it now.
