BfA Pet Battles: Small Beginnings

This Pet Battle is located in Zuldazar north of Dazar'alor (50:23) and the nearest flight point is Garden of the Loa for Horde but quite a run from Scaletrader Post for Alliance.  Completing this is part of the achievement Battle on Zandalar and Kul Tiras.

In this fight you need to defeat the Master Pet Trainer Zujai who has three battle pets:

Scales (critter) good against mechanical/critter and poor against critter/flying.

Breaker (flying) good against aquatic/critter and poor against dragonkin/flying.

Stickers (aquatic) good against elemental and poor against magic.

Zujai "There are many creatures in Zuldazar, some small, others huge.  I have taken it upon myself to capture and train the smallest creatures as a reminder that great things can come from small beginnings."

The Team I used for this is:
          Luyu Moth (2,1,2)

          Ashwing Moth (1,2,2)
          Amber Moth (2, 1, 2)

Battle: For this battle I used a triple moth team.  Start with Luyu Moth with (2) Cocoon Strike against Scales' blind and then use (3) Moth Dust on cool down with (1) Alpha Strike as filler.  When Luyu Moth dies bring in Ashwing Moth and then Amber Moth.  They all have the same abilities.  Against Breaker use (2) Cocoon Strike to counter Headbutt and against Stickers use it on cooldown.  For the rest of the fight use (3) Moth Dust on cooldown and (1) Alpha Strike as filler.

I checked out some comments on WOWhead and many people use a much more complicated battle team but, the triple moth team worked brilliantly for me with no issues.

Charity Pet: Whomper

At Blizzcon 2018, Blizzard announced that this years charity pet would be Whomper and money from purchases would go to Code.org a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to computer science in schools and increasing participation by women and underrepresented minorities.

Whomper is a baby yeti and he is a larger than normal sized humanoid battle pet.  He is quite strong particularly using Flash Freeze to chill the target followed by Deep Freeze, which has a 100% chance to stun a target which is chilled, and Snowball, which has a 100% hit chance and a really nice animation.

He is a really cute pet which I am pleased to add to my collection.

Infused and Abused

This is how I got the achievement Infused and Abused - kill 10 enemies while Fel Infused from a single lightning strike on Argus.

To become Fel Infused you need to find and enter the whirlwind and wait to get hit by lightning.  There are several location around Argus where the whirlwind spawns but I chose Krokuun.  I took the flight path to Shattered Fields and went north up the path to Nath'raxas Hold there I sat on the rocky shelf and waited.  Below there was a group of Wrathful Embers and Blazing Felshards which would make to easy to gain the achievement once I was Fel Infused.  I had to wait but at the next log in there it was.

I ran into the whirlwind and waited to get the 30 second Fel Infused buff.  The whirlwind does damage so make sure you don't stay in there to long.

Once buffed kill the adds ASAP, you only have 30 seconds but I did it on my first try using the large group of Blazing Felshard and Wrathful Embers as they have low health.

Achievement done :)

Mage Tower: Unholy DK

The Mage Tower quests were challenging quests which, if completed, rewarded a special Artifact Weapon.  First you need to speak to War Councilor Victoria outside the Mage Tower at Deliverance Point on the Broken Shore.  She will give you the quest to start the challenge for your class.

The quest line for the Unholy DK is the Imp Mother's Challenge which starts with the quest An Impossible Foe - defeat Agatha. 

Q - An Impossible Foe - defeat Agatha

To start this challenge you will be transported to Agatha's Lair.  In phase 1 Agatha stays in one place in the middle of the chamber and spawns imps which you need to manage.  Most of the imps you can just cleave but prioritise or kite Fuming Imps to the edge, because if you don't kill them quickly, they explode and leave a Plague Zone on the ground.  Periodically Agatha will also spawn two Imp Servants who channel Funnel Energy and heal her, kill them fast.  You can interrupt them but only if you have an interrupt to spare as you need one for Dark Fury.  Dark Fury is an infinite channel which increases in damage.  Agatha will shield herself before casting it.  Prioritise this and get the shield down asap in order to interrupt it as fast as possible.  

At 50% she will go into phase 2.  In phase 2 she casts Translocate and moves to the end of the chamber.  Watch out for fiery boulders which will start rolling along the corridor in three channels.  If they hit you they will do a large amount of damage and stun you.  Her other abilities remain the same.  Make sure you continue to control the imps and interrupt Dark Fury.  After a time she will cast Translocate again and move to the other end of the chamber.  Run to her and continue to attack.  Repeat this until she is dead.  

So avoid boulders, control imps and interrupt Dark Fury and you got this fight.

Once Agatha is defeated return to the Violet Citadal in Dalaran to see the big six.  They will give you a new quest The Imp Mother's Gift - Raise your weapon and receive the Council of Six's gift in the Violet Citadel.  This will reward the new artifact weapon Death's Deliverance in red.  

You can unlock three others colours by defeating Heroic Kil'jaeden (green), winning 10 rated battlegrounds (blue) and defeating 10 different legion dungeon final bosses (yellow).

If this is your first completed challenge from the Mage Tower on this character you will also get the achievement, A Challenging Look (complete an artifact challenge quest line and unlock a new appearance for your artifact weapon).

War of Thorns: Part #1 - Alliance

The Alliance and Horde have fought together against the The Burning Legion, but now they are defeated unrest and suspicion grows between them.  With the discovery of the powerful new mysterious substance, Azerite, both sides want to get the upper hand.  This is war and starts the pre-patch campaign War of Thorns.

The Alliance campaign starts when you are requested to report to King Anduin Wrynn in Stormwind Keep (1).

King Anduin Wrynn "It is with a heavy heart that I must ask you to put your life on the line for the Alliance once more. I have received a disturbing message from our operatives stationed in Orgrimmar."

Azerite has the potential to change the face of warfare.  The Warchief seeks to lay claim to it and has mobilised her army to march on Silithus.  Anduin asks you to report to Master Mathius Shaw for further instruction (2).  Mathias Shaw arrives at Stormwind Keep.  There is a report that the Horde want to gain control of Silithus and you will be sent there to oversee the Alliance presence with the Alliance fleet already on route.  But wait... the reports are wrong!  The Horde are attacking in Ashenvale.

With the fleet away the only defense for Ashenvale is the Darnassian City Guard.  Master Mathias Shaw tells you to report to Captain Delaryn Summermoon, Commander of the Darnassian City Guard, in Astranaar (3).  You use the portal in the courtyard to take you to Astranaar, and meet Captain Summermoon, but you arrive too late, Astranaar is burning and many have been killed.

Captain Delaryn Summermoon is visibly upset.  The outposts were taken by surprise, the guards were poisoned and not even the civilians were spared.  She asks you to honor the bodies of the fallen soldiers in Astranaar, their wisps deserve the light of Elune's blessing (4).  Some of the Forsaken Assassins are still around, hiding in the shadows.  If you find them give them what they deserve, even for the Horde this was a despicable attack (5).

The wisps sing with sorrow but also with purpose, Captain Summermoon hears a sound in the distance and sends you to find Malfurion (6).  Malfurion is in the Twilight Vale on the border between Ashenvale and Darkshore.  He has created a defensive barrier from the wisps to keep out the Horde.

Malfurion "You will come no further Banshee Queen!"

Sylvanas "There will be nowhere to run when we next meet, Malfurion!"

Malfurion tells you to pass through the wall as the wisps will not hurt you.

The wall will slow the Horde but it will not prevent their attack.  We must protect the ancients at all cost.  There are druids in the Twilight Vale hidden among the trees, find them and send them to the Grove of the Ancients (7).  But also watch out for the Frenzied Blackwood furblogs.  The unsettled mess has driven them mad and their madness is a threat to everyone, if you see them put them out of their misery before they endanger anyone else (8).

Captain Delaryn Summermoon "Malfurion!  Horde forces have gathered at the Zoram'gar Outpost.  The Banshee Queen seeks to capture the World Tree."
Malfurion "Delaryn, travel to our outposts.  Gather every soldier you can find and bring them here.  Sylvanas seeks to engage me and I plan to give her what she wants.  Word has been sent to our fleet.  Elune willing they will soon return."

Make your way with Captain Delaryn Summermoon to the Grove of the Ancients where a Monstrous Shredder is on the rampage.  Stop this thing before it destroys the Grove of the Ancients (9).

The Shredder is destroyed.

The ancient Onu can hear the crying of the Furblogs and asks you to find and help them within the Blackwood Den.  Make your way there with Captain Summermoon.  The Horde are attacking the Blackwood Den using large demolishes.  You rescue Elder Brolg, Gren Tornfur and Elder Brownpaw (10). Captain Delaryn Summermoon also suggests that if you can sabotage a few Horde Demolishers that could mean dozens of lives saved.  You place bombs on them and blow them up (11).

Captain Delaryn Summermoon "We have done what we can here.  The Horde... there are so many of them..."

You return to Onu in the Grove of the Ancients but he is in pain, "Onu bellows in pain".  He senses a powerful force in our midst, it comes from the earth itself.  Go to the water's edge to Nazj'vel, which is just off the south west coast of Darkshore (12).  There is a glow from this place, caused by the Azerite.  It is hurting Onu and the Horde seem eager to collect it for themselves.

Captain Delaryn Summermoon tells you to collect the Azerite for the Alliance (13) and kill any Horde soldiers.  The Horde must not be allowed to get their hands on this Azerite (14).

A battle has begun and the Alliance need more forces.  Find Malfurion at the Wildbend River (15). You follow the path north until you get to the river where the battle is taking place.  You join the battle fighting alongside the ancients to slay the Horde forces (16).  But the horde are too many, it is time to regroup.

Travel to Darnassus to meet with Malfurion and Captain Delaryn (17).  The Alliance forces are gathering in Darnassus.  Captain Summermoon asks you to rally them (18).  You go around Darnassus and rally the Priestesses of the Moon, the Druids of the Claw and the Kaldorei forces. They are ready for battle. You return to the dock in Rut'theran village to speak with Malfurion.

Malfurion "Our fleet has returned from Silithus.  King Anduin will send soldiers to aid us.  We must hold our ground until they arrive."

Captain Delaryn Summermoon "May our will be stronger than their war machines."

Malfurion "A war is not won or lost in a single battle.  Our day will come."

After you have completed this part of the quest chain World Quests become available in Darkshore and these reward gear which is ilevel 210+.  Some people were disappointed that this gear is not a new design but just renamed armor.  For my druid the gear is identical to the Springrain gear I got from boosting,

Hallows End 2018

It is the return of the Headless Horseman with the holiday Hallows End running from 17-30 October.  There are many rewards from this holiday but new for 2018 is a toy Headless Horseman's Hearthstone which costs 150 Tricky Treats.

The only other thing I am missing from previous Hallows End holidays is the transmog Hat of the First Sister from the daily quest Under the Crooked Tree.  This quest is located just west of Bradenbrook in Val'sharah and you need to click the witches cauldron to enter the spirit realm and defeat Aria Sorrowheart.  In 2018 Aria is level 120.  She periodically casts Aria's Shriek which fears you if you do not interrupt it.

Previously this required two people but they may have extended the time between casts as I was able to interrupt all casts with Mind Freeze, which has a 15 second cooldown.  The reward from this quest is Hag's Belongings which contains Tricky Treats, wands and also has a chance to drop one of the four transmog witches hats, Hat of the First Sister, Hat of the Second Sister, Hat of the Third Sister and Hat of the Youngest Sister.  I dropped the Hat of the First Sister from my first bag completing my collection.

Many of the other pets and vanity items can be purchased from the holiday vendors with Tricky Treats.  The holiday vendors are located in the major cities near the Wickermen.  For Horde you can find Chub in the ruins of Lordaeron, make sure to turn it back to pre destruction by talking to Zidormi who is near where the zeppelin towers used to be.  For Alliance the vendor is Dorothy who is located just outside the front gate of Stormwind.

Tricky Treats can be collected from Handful of Treats from visiting all the pumpkins located in the inns of Azeroth, Outland, Northrend and Pandarian.  They also come from the daily quests by the Wickermen, the Hag's belongings reward from the daily Crooked Tree quest and the Loot-Filled Pumpkin reward from the daily dungeon, which also has a chance to reward the much sought after Headless Horseman's Reins mount.
