Come Sail Away: Part #2

 Alliance War Campaign #2

After making your way to Kul Tiras with Jaina, you arrive infront of Lord Admiral Katherine Proudmoore but she disowns her daughter leaving you in the hands of Lady Ashvane.

You wake up in a jail cell barely clothed.

"Beware...beware the daughter of the sea...hmm...hmm"

You are sharing a cell with Flynn Fairwind, "heyyy, look who's finally awake, hope you had a nice nap.  You're gonna need your strength" and he has a plan to help you both escape.

Q - Out Like Flynn - escape Tol Dagor with Flynn. (Punch Flynn, Cell Block Lever pulled, Equipment recovered, Block Warden Carmine slain, Glittering Gunpowder, Cell Block Gate opened, Enter the Sewers, Board the Getaway Boat)

He explains that you are incarcerated in Tol Dagor which used to be a legit prison until it was bought by the Ashvane Trading Company and now it is Pricilla's own personal fortress.  Flynn had to bribe his way into this cell but don't worry he has a plan to escape.

First a distraction, you hit Flynn which alerts the guards and when they enter the cell.  Flynn jumps up and ambushes them.  You run out to the end of the corridor and hit the lever labelled 'ATTENTION IDIOTS.  DO NOT PULL!!', which opens all the cell doors freeing the prisoners. Next you need your clothes, click on the chest nearby as it contains your gear.  

Then now to escape. You need the key card from the Warden.

He is at the other end of the corridor but when you attack him he used a mysterious powder which explodes and destroys the card.
Flynn Fairwind "Damn!  The keys are ruined.  That was some serious firepower!  Just what kind of powder is this?  Hey, help me grab some of this stuff."
The powder is powerful, grab a sample and make your way to the gate.  Without the key card you use the powder to blow the gate and go down the stairs into the sewer.  Ahead the grate is blocked.

Flynn Fairwind "guess we're not going out that way, lets try the other side".  

Go past the crocodiles and down the pipe. Watch out for the rats and follow the tunnel to the end.

At the exit there is an Ashvane Jailer blocking the way.

"YOU!  STOP RIGHT THERE!, Wh-what?!  No!  Noooo!!"

He gets eaten by The Sand Queen, a ginormous krolusk.  You make your way left up the beach keeping close to the edge to avoid attracting any other attacks until you see a boat.

Flynn Fairwind "There she is!  Let's hop in."
Taelia "What is going on in there?  It sounds like you started a riot!"

Flynn Fairwind "No idea what you're talking about... But I think we finally have some real dirt on Ashvane.  A new gunpowder, like nothing I've ever seen.  OH, and I rescued the target, of course.  Crime-buddy, Taelia, Taelia, crime-buddy."
Taelia "Wait... I recognize you... You arrived with Jaina Proudmoore!  You're the Alliance emissary!"
Flynn Fairwind "Alliance emissary?!  Cyrus didn't mention that... I would have charged him double!"
Taelia "You're lucky he's paying you at all.  Now row!"

The boat driven by Taelia arrives back at Boralus Harbour.
Taelia "Here we are, Boralus Harbor.  Aside from Proudmoore Keep, it's the most heavily guarded part of the city and the only place most visitors ever get to see.   Looks like another Alliance ship has already docked.  Hopefully they got a warmer welcome than Jaine did..."

Q - Get Your Bearings - visit the Ferry Dock, the Snug Harbor inn, the Tradewinds Counting House and the Flight Master in Tradewinds Market.

You are just another person in Boralus, free to roam around.  Taelia will show you where to go to visit the places mentioned.  Once you get your bearings, Taelia says you should meet the Harbormaster himself, Cyrus Crestfall.

Q - The Old Knight - meet with Cyrus Crestfall. (Enter the Harbormaster's office, Speak with Cyrus Crestfall)

As you make your way to the harbourmasters office you come across some guards who are arresting Genn Greymane.  Cyrus arrives.

Cyrus Crestfall "what's happening?  Stand down!  Don't you know who that is?  Taelia!  Prepare a full briefing for our guests."

Cyrus stops them and he invites Greymane to his office saying it is a honor to meet him.
You shake Cyrus' hand.

Cyrus Crestfall "Kul Tiras still bears the scars of the Third War.  No one feels this more deeply than Katherine Proudmoore.  But she is misguided.  Her advisors have kept her blind to the infection that has spread throughout our kingdom.  The land I love is falling about... so I'm asking for your help.  Kul Tiras needs the Alliance just as badly as you need us".

Genn Greymane "I see.  Then we shall prove to Katherine Proudmoore the same truth that I learned at great cost... in unity, there is strength."

After completing this there are then a few quests which give you some useful things.

Taelia Q - Sanctum of the Sages - speak with a 7th Legion Mage in the Sanctum of the Sages.  When you speak with her she will open some portals to Ironforge, Stormwind and Exodar.

Cyrus Crestfall Q - Ferry Pass - speak with Cyrus Crestfall and receive the Ferry Pass.  Talking to Cyrus will get you the ferry pass opening up ferry routes around Kul Tiras.

Finally the scouting map where you start your missions on Kul Tiras.

Taelia Q - A Nation Divided - inspect the scouting map in the Harbormaster's Office.  On the scouting map you can choose which zone in Kul Tiras you would like to quest in first from Tiragarde Sound, Drustvar and Stormsong Valley.

You receive the achievement: Come Sail Away - complete the introduction to Kul Tiras.

BfA Fishing

With the launch if BfA professions have changed.  Now many of the professions have separate tiers for each expansion which can be learnt independently of the previous tiers, so no need to back track if you want to try something new.

This is also the case for some of the secondary professions like fishing.  Although on my DK I have all tiers maxed out on my alliance druid I had never done fishing before.

In BfA the fish caught on and around the islands are counted as either coastal or inland.  You can also catch rare fish called Midnight Salmon which can be used in professions, cooked or sold on the auction house.

There are also some new fishing achievements:

Zandalari Fisherman or Kul Tiran Fisherman - reach max level fishing for Battle of Azeroth.

Angling for Battle - catch 100 normal fish in Kul Tiras or Zandalar.

Fish Me in the Moonlight - catch 50 Midnight Salmon. (These are a rare drop from any fishing in KulTiras and Zandalar).

Scent of the Sea - create 100 Aromatic Fish Oil by right clicking normal fish.

Catchin' Some Rays - fish up Great Sea Ray in any coastal waters.

Baiting the Enemy - Horde only.  Fish up Rasboralus in Proudmoore Keep.

Baiting the Enemy - Alliance only.  Fish up U'taka in Dazar'alor.

Uuna's Story: Part #2 - A New Friend

After looting Uuna's Doll from the Many Faced Devourer, I was able to summon Uuna as a non combat battle pet, and can now follow her journey.

A New Friend: If you summon Uuna the ghost of Uuna will follow you around and  after a few minutes she will speak.
Uuna " Can anybody hear me?"

You need to communicate with her.  First /whistle to get her attention. (you whistle at Uuna)  
Uuna "Hello?  Who's there?  I heard you, Who are you?  Can you help me?  It's so dark!  I can't see a thing!"

Next /roar at her. (You roar with beastial vigor at Uuna. So fierce!)

Uuna "Ack!  A monster!  Help!  Help!"

Unfortunately she gets scared and runs away (she will despawn so make sure to summon her back).  

Next do /cry and she will also begin to cry. (You cry on Uuna's shoulder)
Uuna "Are you sad too?  Are you lost like me?  At least we're together now.  We just... don't know where we are.  But you're my friend, and I know it's gonna be okay.  I wish I could see better.  It's always so dark here!"

Now for a road trip.

Bright Lights: Take Uuna to Shattrath to see A'dal.  When she sees the bright light she will walk towards it.
Uuna "What's that?  A light in the darkness!  It's so bright... It's too bright!  Too bright!  Owww!"

But when she realises the light is too bright she runs away again (and despawns summon her back).

Wanna Be Friends: Bring Uuna to the moonlight at Lake Falathim in Ashenvale.  For horde take the flightpath from Orgrimmar to Hellscream's Watch and fly west.  Lake Falathim (18:41) is between Maestra's Post and Zoram'gar Outpost.  Uuna runs up to the stones.  The moonlight helps her to see.

Uuna "It's gotten a little brighter!  I can see... sorta, Oh, Hi!  Who are you?  I'm Uuna, wanna be friends?  Maybe together we can get outta this place.  I wish Nuu were here.  He'd know what to do."

Finding Nuu: Go on a mission to hunt for Nuu.  Nuu can be found on a floating island in Mac'Aree, Argus.  Take the portal in the Dalaran (Legion) flight area and once on the Vindicaar fly to Shadowguard Incursion and then go slightly south to The Twisting Nether (24:58).  Off the edge of the island you will see two small floating islands one quite close and one further away.

Using the goblin glider float to the first one and after waiting for the cooldown on your glider to reset, from the highest point glide over to the further away island.

Enter the house on the island and there you will find Nuu.  Nuu is a little blue bear which Uuna will carry from now on.
Uuna "Nuu-Nuu!  I was scared I'd never see you again!  How did you get here?  Nuu is here to help us, friend.  I knew you'd find us, Nuu!  I'll hold onto him so he doesn't get lost again."

Shooting Stars: Next stop on the road trip is Bloodmyst Isle.  For Horde this is quite tricky to get to.  First go to Darkshore and speak to Zidormi to revert to pre BfA then fly across the sea to Ruttheran Village in Teldrassil.  The dock on the far left as you fly in from the sea has a portal to Exodar, take it and then run through Azuremyst Isle and across the bridge to Bloodmyst Isle and on to Blood Watch.  Take her to the table near the house furthest right on the map which is just down the path from the flightmaster (56:56).  She will pick up a wand and carry it from now on in her right hand.
Uuna "I used to have a wand like that!  Lost it a long time ago.  It shoots stars! Bad guys really hate that."

Flower Crown: Next take Uuna to Shadowmoon Valley (Draenor).  Use the Garrison hearthstone and then fly to a little camp in Shadowmoon Valley (56:41).  Here Uuna will pick up a flower crown from a chair next to the fire.

Uuna "A Crown!  So pretty!  You can't fight the dark without a crown, friend.  It's the rules.  I feel a lot better now."

Uuna Gets Kidnapped: Suddenly void tendrils come up out of the ground and surround Uuna.
Uuna " It's dark again!  Where did you go?  Don't leave me!  No!  Let me go!  Help, friend!  HELP!"
Uuna disappears and when you try to resummon her it just says Uuna is missing!

Getting Marked: To rescue Uuna, first you need to speak to a spirit healer and to do that you need to die.  In order to die I removed my armor, flew up into the air and fell.  

Talk to the Spirit Healer and ask about Uuna.
"I'm looking for a little girl named Uuna, have you seen her?"
Spirit Healer "I have heard the cries of the child you speak of.  I shall mark you, that you may pass into this realm and seek her out.  She resides in a place where the barrier between the realms of life and death are thin, and spill over into your world.  Be warned, you have no power in this place, its denizens cannot be harmed by mortals.  Try as you might, you may not be able to aid your friend."

Shadow of a Tear:  

Next go to the Emerald Dragonshrine which is south east of Wyrmrest Temple in Dragonblight, Northrend.  In the eye of the skull east most in the shrine you will find the Shadow Tear, click on it to start the scenario to save Uuna. 

Scenario

The scenario will enter you into A Dark Place.  In the distance you can see Uuna.  Walk towards her.  She is feeling alone and crying, /cheer at her. (You cheer at Uuna)
Uuna "Friend?  Is that you?  I won't give up, friend!  I promise!  I'm just so cold, and it's very dark here.  I don't know what to do!
Uuna is cold, put down a campfire next to her.

Uuna "There you are!  That's much better.  They're gonna be here, soon, friend.  I keep running and running... but they always find me.  But now you're here.  Together we can fight them!  I think... Promise you won't leave me, friend.  Even when it gets dark... They're here..."

Uuna "GO AWAY!  WE'RE NOT AFRAID OF YOU!"
Soul-Eaters appear and start to move towards Uuna.  Run into them to knock them back a bit but they keep on coming more and more getting closer and closer to her.  After a while they almost begin to overwhelm her.

Uuna "Friend?  Are you still there?  I'm scared!  I--I can't do it!  I just wanna go home!"  Uuna wraps her arms around herself and begins to cry.
Give Uuna a hug /hug. (You hug Uuna)
Uuna "F-friend, you're here!  You didn't leave me!  Mama told me the Light would always find me.  That's you, friend.  You're my light!  And as long as my light is with me, there's no way the darkness can win!  My light is super strong!"
Uuna "I'M NOT GONNA BE AFRAID ANYMORE!"

 

Uuna "The darkness is gone!  I can see!  Oh, friend!  We did it!  We beat them!  What... what's happening?  The light... it's telling me to follow it... Mama! Papa!  They're waiting for me!  Wait a sec... There's so much I never got to do.  So many places I never got to see... Is it okay if I stay with my friend?  For just a little while longer?  Friend!  The light says I can stay!  Woo-hoo!  Tell Mama and Papa I miss them, and... and I'll see them soon!  Okay, friend, lets get outta here!  We have so many places to go!  
Uuna gives you a hug.

Uuna is now your non combat companion complete with Nuu, her sparkly wand and flower crown but there is more.  Uuna wants to see the world, there are so many things she never got to do and so many places she never got to go, so it is time for road trip part 2.

Good Pet Day

Having been trying for quite some time to complete the achievement Raiding with Leashes V: Cuteaclysm - collect all the battle pets listed below from Bastion of Twilight, Blackwing Descent, Throne of the Four Winds, Firelands and Dragon Soul.  I had given up for a while, and today I decided to try again.  I had 7 out of the 15 pets still outstanding.

So first up a trip to Dragon Soul when so far, none of the pets had dropped for me.  As these are old raids and there is very little danger to me as a level 120 Blood DK, I decided, following a comment on WOWhead, to wear the Talisman of True Treasure Tracking for good luck.  I am not sure if this made a difference, if the drop rates have increased or if I was just extremely lucky but today was a good pet day.

Dragon Soul

After killing Morchok and Warlord Zon'ozz I went to Yor'sahj the Unsleeping and was really surprised to see the Puddle of Black Liquid (Faceless Mindlasher pet) drop.  I continued to the Spine of Deathwing which now it does 0 damage was very easy and the Elementium Back Plate (Corrupted Blood pet) also dropped.  I didn't have high expectations against Deathwing but with also the possibility of a mount went for the kill, and was really pleased to see the Severed Tentacle (Unstable Tendril pet) drop too.  All three drops from one run was amazing.

Blackwing Descent

First to kill Magmaw and then try for the first pet I needed from the Omnotron Defense System.  After my success in Dragon Soul I was a little disappointed not to get the pet.  The other one I needed here was from the last boss Nefarian I started the fight and got the drop, Shadowy Pile of Bones (Rattlejaw pet).

Bastion of Twilight

I already have all the pets from this raid so had no need to run this again today. 

Throne of Four Winds

In Throne of Four Winds I had already got several Zephyrian Prince pets but never dropped Drafty (or the Drake of the South Wind mount).  First boss down and I got the drop, third of this pet.  Final boss, Nezir and Breezy Essence (Drafty pet) dropped but unfortunately not the mount :)

Firelands

In Firelands I have been quite successful in the past but there was 1 pet which has evaded me, the Blazehound which drops from Shannox.  This time I felt positive with my earlier success but it was not to be.

A successful day with 5 pets looted in just 1 day with just 1 character.  Now I only have 2 left to get Tinytron from Magnatron, Blackwing Descent and Blazehound from Shannox, Firelands.

Darkshore Rares 8.1

With patch 8.1, Darkshore has been revamped.  After the burning of the Great World Tree, Darkshore has become a bitter warfront where the Horde and the Alliance battle for control.

Christmas 2018 - Gifts

The Feast of Winter Veil 2018 runs from 16 December 2018 to 2 January 2019 and this years gifts from under the tree and the presents I received are:

Festive Gift - Wand of Holiday Cheer - use: fills target with holiday cheer.
Ticking Present - 5x Preserved Holly - use: your mount will be more festive, Mechanical Greench - use: summons a mechanical greench that will protect you for 10 min (3 charges).

Overall there were some nice gifts this year I like the new variety hearthstones they are coming out with all the different effects, they are good and the armor, well I wish I could transmog to it all the time.  You will be able to use this toy outside of the winters veil holiday period but the cooldown will be increased.

First Darkshore Mount - Blackpaw

Today I managed to get a drop of my first new mount from Darkshore.  While killing the rare Blackpaw the mount dropped. 

"Blackpaw was just hibernating, minding his own business, and then suddenly there was a warfront."

For Horde players you need to kill Blackpaw, who is in the north of Darkshore (49:24), as you approach him he has Agathe Wyrmwood in his mouth and drops her as you get near.  For Alliance players it is slightly different, instead of Blackpaw himself you need to kill Agathe Wyrmwood who will drop the Caged Bear from which you learn the mount Blackpaw.  This mount is not 100% drop, but according to Wowhead, at time of writing, it says 20%.  For me it took 3-4  kills.

 

This mount looks great, big enough for my Tauren I might have to check out how a gnome looks on it :).  Grrrrrr!
