Micro Holiday: Hatching of the Hippogryphs

February 23^rd 2017 is the micro holiday Hatching of the Hippogryphs.  This micro holiday is located in Feralas.  The easiest way to get there is to take the portal to Thunder Bluff and then the flight path to Stonemaul Hold in Feralas.  From there fly south to north west of the Ruins of Isildien.

Look for a large nest on the ground containing a small blueish egg.

Stand next to the egg and you will see text saying:

Oh? Is this egg moving?

The egg seems cold.  Stay close to it to keep it warm.

You hear a rustling sound inside the egg.

The hippogryph inside is struggling to escape.

This is it!  The egg is hatching!

The hippogryph hatchling will appear on your shoulder, and you will get the buff, Frayfeather Hatchling, for 24 hours.  This will also remove any shoulder transmog while the buff is active.

There is also a rare flying around called Lorthalium.  If you kill Lorthalium you can loot a Spectral Feather which, on use, will extend the duration of your Frayfeather Hatchling to 5 days.  This rare can be faction tagged which was making quite a few people on my server get very annoyed at the alliance.

Overall the little hippogryph on your shoulder is quite cute and you get little texts from it every now and again sayingthings like “Your Frayfeather Hatchling wants to see more of the world” or “Your Frayfeather Hatchling stretches its wings”
