Week 2 (June 28th 2017) we returned to Tomb of Sargeras to defeat more bosses, or try to, and get some fat loots. We again had to add some non guildies to get a group but managed to get two healers who had been with us last week to come back again, they say we are a nice group which was really nice for us. The first boss Goroth went down in one attempt and it wasn't long before we also got Alterec and Balec (Demonic Inquisition) down too. All that practice last week obviously worked :).
So then we were onto progress and we managed two more bosses Harjatan and Mistress Sassz'ine on day 1 and tried Sisters of the Moon. On day 2 we killed Sisters and then after some attempts killed The Desolate Host on the last pull of the night.
For this boss stack the raid in front of him to share the damage from Unchecked Rage, tank swap on 4 stacks of Jagged Abrasion, off tank pick up the adds they become a priority. Random players will be targeted with a white swirl (Drenching Waters) which places a green pool. This should be placed at the edges of the room but realistically pugs usually do not do this and drop it anywhere. The boss will cast Draw In and pull all the green pools towards him, avoid them. After he absorbs the pools they will re spawn on random players. In normal we just drag him around the room to find space but in Heroic or Mythic I think placement of these pools will be much more important. Rinse and repeat.
This boss is a good one to check if your pugs are noobs or if they actually know what to do as there are a couple of tactics to note, noobs will be eaten by the whale like two of our pugs last week. Tank her mostly in the middle of the room and tank swap on Burden of Pain. Tank with Burden of Pain debuff should avoid physical damage as it spreads to the raid. Off tank collect the adds (Abyss Stalkers). When killed these adds drop a pool (Concealing Murk), stand behind this pool during the line of tornadoes (Slicing Tornado). A random player will be targeted with Hydra Shot, others should stand in the line of this to share the damage but not everyone as it leaves a debuff. Avoid the jelly fish and that is phase one. In phase two you must avoid the Crashing Wave which comes across the middle of the room. When Mistress casts Beckon Sarukel the whale will appear and cast Devouring Maw. Befouling Ink (purple pools) should be absorbed and taken to it but don't go to close or you will be eaten. Three deposits feed the beast, but the pools leave a debuff and you can only soak one every 8 seconds. At 40% phase three begins. In this phase the purple pools need to be soaked if the area is getting to messy. The whale will no longer appear but other mechanics from phase one return.
