Tavern Brawl: This Week

Showdown at Blackrock Mountain
The two epic bosses of Blackrock Mountain are settling things once and for all... with your help!

In this brawl you get to play with either Ragnaros or Nefarian using a premade deck.  Both decks include many legendaries.  This is the second time that this brawl have been available, it was actually the very first brawl in hearthstone.  The first time Nefarian was by far the strongest hero but this time they have reduced the number of mana crystals Nefarian starts with by 1 (4 instead of 5) and this has made the fight much more balanced.  Although from my experience Ragnaros may now be a bit stronger (so far I only lost 2 fights with Ragnaros and only won 2 with Nefarian, Rowan (age 3) also managed to win a brawl as Ragnaros with very little help from me :)

Ragnaros the Flamelord:
Hero Power: Molten Rage - Summon a 5/1 Magma Rager.

Ragnaros starts with 1 mana and 60 health and the 2/6 weapon Sulfuras equip.
Sulfuras - Deathrattle: Your hero power becomes DIE INSECT! 'deal 8 damage to a random enemy'.

Some of the most significant cards in the Ragnaros deck are:
Son of the Flame (3 mana, 6/3) - Battlecry: Deal 6 damage, good battle cry damage for only 3 mana.
Molton Giant (20 mana, 8/8) - costs (1) less for each damage your hero has taken, useful now as you can often play it for no mana.
Living Lava (2 mana, 6/6) - Taunt, very cheap taunt.

And some of the legendaries you get are:
High Justice Grimstone (3 mana, 4/5) -  At the start of your turn summon a legendary minion
Lucifron (4 mana 4/7) - Battlecry: cast corruption on all other minions
(corruption - At the start of the corrupting players turn destroy this minion)
Golemagg (50 mana 20/20) - costs (1) less for each damage your hero has taken, desperate play because to cost 0 mana you will be down to only 10 health.
Garr (5 mana, 4/8) - whenever this minion takes damage, summon a 2/3 elemental with Taunt.

Other cards include: Barron Geddon, Coren Direbrew (summons Brawl), Moira Bronzebeard, Flame Imp, Fire Elemental, Whirling Ash, Lava Burst, Flamestrike, Core Hound Puppies, Flameheart and Living Bomb.

Best Plays:
- Try and control Nefarians damage.
- Use your weapon every turn to trigger your 8 damage hero power as soon as possible.

Nefarian:
Hero Power: Wildmagic - Add a random spell from any class to your hand. It costs (0)

Nefarian starts with 4 mana, 30 health and 30 armour.  His hero power can summon any spell from the game and some are useless as they are class specific but if the RNG (random number generator) is smiling on you it can be extremely useful.

Some of the most significant cards in the Nefarian deck are:
Chromatic Drake (4 mana, 7/7)  - quite a strong minion for little cost.
Dragon Consort (5 mana, 5/5) - Battlecry: the next dragon you play cost (2) less, in a deck with lots of dragons quite a good card.
Open The Gates (8 mana) - Fill your board with 2/2 whelps, very useful when Ragnoros has his second hero power as it gives a lot of other minions for the random 8 damage to aim for.

And some of the legendaries you get are:
Vaelastrasz (6 mana, 7/7) - Your cards cost (3) less, nice for playing more dragons.
Chromaggus (8 mana, 6/8) - Whenever you draw a card put another copy into your hand, always gets destroyed quickly but if you draw a nice card 2 of them can only be a bonus.
Magmatron (5 mana 7/7) - Whenever a player plays a card, Magmatron deals(2) damage to them, attacks both players so just remember.
Razorgore (6 mana, 4/12) - At the start of your turn, give your minions +3 attack, lots of health so not easy to kill straight away.

Other cards include: Arcanotron, Atramedes, Electron, Onyxia, Rend Blackhand, Toxitron, Blackwing Corruptor, Blackwing Technician, Dragonkin Spellcaster, Drakonid Slayer, Bite, Shadowflame.

Best Plays:
- Use your hero power often, the spells have no cost and can be very useful.
- Attack fast to stop Ragnaros getting any hold on the match.
