Ulduar Timewalking: Part #1

The 14th February 2018 was the start of the Timewalking dungeon weekly quest event for Wrath of the Lich King.  To complete the weekly quest you need to complete 5 Timewalking Dungeons and the reward is usually some fairly high level gear.  However also this week, as well as the dungeons, for the first time it was also possible to complete the newly released Timewalking raid in Ulduar.

As a guild we grouped up to try and complete the Ulduar Timewalking raid.  Back in the day Ulduar was a hard very long raid.  Now most people run it solo to try and collect pets and the mount Mimiron's Head. Timewalking is a little different from that as all our gear was scaled to level 80 but overall it was not that hard, you just need to know some tactics not just tank and spank.

PART 1 - The Siege of Ulduar

Boss 1: Flame Leviathan
This is an unusual boss where it doesn't matter what role you are as everyone fights in a vehicle and the 3 different vehicles have different abilities.  To start, drive down the central gauntlet destroying the small towers and adds until you reach the end.  Flame Leviathan will break through the gate.  If you are targeted by the boss run away,  I was a Siege Engine Driver so I also attacked the boss with my ram and interrupted the Flame Vents with electroshock.
Other vehicles roles:
Siege Engine Passenger - fires down pyrite ammo from the air, light tar and kill adds.
Demolisher Driver - do damage to boss, kite boss and light tar.
Demolisher Passenger - shoots down and salvaged pyrite ammo, launch both pyrite and players at the boss.
Chopper - drops inflammable tar, rescue any players who lose their vehicles.

Boss 2: Ignis the Furnace Master
Ignis is a fire giant who now serves Yogg-Saron.  The main tank should tank Ignis by the water and face him away from the raid.  Off tank collect the adds (Iron Constructs) and hold them in the scorched field until they become Molten then move them to the water so they become Brittle and can be shattered.  Once brittle all dps target the adds.  Stop casting when Ignis casts Flame Jets.  Healers heal players in the Slag Pot.

Boss 3: Razorscale
Razorscale is a dragon who was captured and enhanced with metal plates.
Phase 1 - At the start of the fight Razorscale is in the air, avoid his Devouring Flame.  Kill the Dark Rune adds that spawn from mole machines which come up from the ground.  Focus the Dark Rune Watchers (Healers).  Over time the harpoon turrets at the bottom of the stairs will become repairable. Assign someone to repair them.  Continue to kill the adds until all the harpoon turrets are repaired, then fire them and it will bring Razorscale to the ground.
Phase 2 - Use all attack cooldowns and kill Razorscale as fast as possible or she may take off again if not below 50% after 30 seconds.  If that happens repeat Phase 1.  Tanks move Razorscale in a circle to avoid fire patches and avoid facing the raid.  Tank swap on 5 stacks of Fuse Armor.

Boss 4: XT-002 Deconstructor
This boss is a clockwork giant living in the scrapyard who acts like a bad tempered child.  If players are targeted by Gravity Bomb or Searing Light they should move 12 yards away from other players.  At 75%, 50% and 25% the XR-002's heart will become exposed and become attackable.  There are adds during the heart phase which need to be focused and killed quickly, tanks should control the XM-024 Pummellers, ranged should focus on the XE-321 Boombots and melee should focus the XS-013 Scrapbots.  Save healing cooldowns for Tympanic Tantrum, which is raid wide damage.  If his heart is destroyed during any exposed phase it will start hard mode.  In hard mode the boss is healed to 100%, adds are removed and he gains several new abilities which increase his damage and spawn void zones and Life Spark adds.

To be Continued.... (Ulduar Timewalking: Part #2)
