Sun Darter Hatchling: Part #1

The Sun Darter Hatchling is a hidden pet that was discovered by the WOW Secret Finding Discord.  It is looted from Oddly-Colored Egg  at the back of the Cavern of Consumption on the Winterspring coast.  To get to it you need to complete a number of riddles.  Before attempting to get the pet, first you need to prepare and collect all the stuff needed to complete the riddles.

You will need:

1) Protection potions - these can be made by an alchemist or bought from the auction house.

     -Major Arcane Protection potion,

     -Major Fire Protection Potion, 

     -Major Frost Protection Potion, 

     -Major Holy Protection Potion,
     -Major Nature Protection Potion,

     -Major Shadow Protection Potion.

2) 20x Noggenfogger Elixir - Can be bought from Sprinkle Noggenfogger for 35s each.  She is located just south of the Alliance flightmaster in Gadgetzan, Tanaris.
3) Dire Brew - This can be collected from the Grim Guzzler in the dungeon Blackrock Depths located in Blackrock Mountain.  * See below for how to get this.
4) Ethereal Oil - This can be made by alchemists using fish, 2x Glassfin Minnow which can be fished up in Northrend predominantly Crystalsong Forest.  You could also buy this from the auction house.
5) Scotty's Lucky Coin - This is dropped by Scotty in Townlong Steppes, Pandaria.  **See below for how to get this.
6) Gordok Ogre Suit - This can be obtained from inside Dire Maul.  ***See below for how to get this.
7) Winterfall Firewater - these are dropped by Winterfall Furbogs in Winterspring.

8) 20x Pygmy Oil - this can be made by an alchemists, using Pygmy Sucker Fish which are fished up all over Northrend and can be brought from the auction house. 

9) Perky Pug - this is a pet which most players should have as it is the reward for the Looking For Multitudes achievement of grouping with 100 random players in heroic dungeons.

10) "Little Princess" Costume - this is a costume for your Perky Pug pet and can be purchased from battle pet vendors like the ones in the Magical Menagerie Shop in new Dalaran, to the left of the steps.

11) Scroll of Intellect - these can be made with Inscription or purchased off the auction house, only level 1 version is required.

Once you have acquired all the items needed you can make your way to Winterspring and the Cavern of Consumption.

* - Dire Brew - To get to the Grim Guzzler you can use the Direbrew's Remote but if you don't have this do not use the Abandoned Mole Machine as this takes you past the Grim Guzzler behind a locked door.  You need to go left and go through the steel bar door next to Galamav the Marksman (all names are for horde, alliance may have different NPCs) and then take the first right through another steel bar door.  Along the corridor on the left is Razal'blade standing next to the East Garrison door go through there.

In the East Garrison go straight ahead and click on the mechanism below the giant cogwheel before coming back and going up the ramp on the right.  At the top go left, if you get to the Ring of Law you have gone to far.  Go along the corridor through the Garrison until you get to the exit door.  Now you are in Shadowforge City.  Run along the corridor and through the West Garrison.  Take the ramp on your right down to the Manufactury and about half way through turn right and cross the stone bridge guarded by four Fire Destroyers and through the door on the other side.  You have arrived.
Now to get the Direbrew.  Find the Dark Iron Brewer who is upstairs in the Grim Guzzler near the  gnome dressed in red, walking on the bar.  Speak to the Dark Iron Brewer about the ingredients in the beer and after going through his dialogue he will pass out drunk dropping a mug which you can loot.

It is not lootable off him but can be found somewhere around him on the floor in a red cloud.  This is the Dire Brew.

** - Scotty's Lucky Coin

Scotty is an elite Forest Sprite, located in Sta'vess, Townlong Steppes, Pandaria.  He is in a hidden gap under the roots of the tree at (21,46) behind a Mantid hut.  He has a 97% chance to drop the Lucky Coin (according to Wowhead) and has a 6 minute repawn time.  Unfortunately this is not a toy and only has 3 charges.

*** - Gordok Ogre Suit

You will need to go to Dire Maul in Feralas to get this suit.  First take the north entrance and from the entrance go left and down the corridor to Halls of Destruction.  In the corner you can see Knot Thumblejack but ignore him for now and follow the path round and go up the first ramp. In the middle of the floor on the platform is a basket Ogre Tannin Basket.  Loot it to get the Ogre Tannin. 

 

Bring the Ogre Tannin back to Knot Thimblejack to complete his quest The Gordok Ogre Suit and receive the suit.
