WOW: How to get Yusa's Hearty Stew Recipe

An extra recipe you can get for cooking in Dragonflight is called Yusa's Hearty Stew. This recipe only needs dragonflight cooking level 30 to learn and it is a grand feast increasing a secondary stat of all who enjoy it.

Elder Yusa is located next to a cooking fire in Teerakai, Ohn'ahran Plains at (41:62).  If you do /hungry to Elder Yusa she will give you the recipe.

Elder Yusa, "You're hungry, eh? I can hear that belly rumbling from here! Well, I've only made enough for Teerakai, but here's the recipe if you'd like to try some yourself. You might want to cut some of the ingredients unless you're planning to feed an army." "And remember, watch your teeth!"

The recipe requires:

Farmable ingredients: 1 x Islefin Dorado, 1x Thousandbite Piranha, 1x Mighty Mammoth Ribs.

Purchased ingredients: 1x Ohn'ahran Potato, 1x Assorted Exotic Spice.

WOW Wanted: Fenistrasza's Skull

On a poster in Dragonscale Basecamp the Dragonscale Expedition ask for someone to try and find Fenistrasza's Skull.  The skull is in the possession of Tarjin the Blind.  Tarjin the Blind can be found in The Waking Shore (16:62) but, you can not get the skull until you complete his quest Tarjin's Tales.

Q - Tarjin's Tales - Collect 5 Impressive Dragon Skulls from powerful dragons and proto-dragons in the Dragon Isles.

This does not need to be 5 different dragons, which is something I did not realise initially.  A good place to do this quest is to kill Jadzigeth (53:83) in The Walking Shore. 

This dragon has a respawn timer of about 60 seconds and drops the skull with every kill, so it is a really quick way to complete the quest. 

I had been finding it difficult to identify what to kill. Circles were appearing on my mini map showing me places to complete the quest but when I got there I could not see any impressive dragons which may drop a skull.  Using Jadzigeth is definitely the way to go although, it is a bit annoying that when you return the skulls to Tarjin he just chucks them over his shoulder into a lava pit and insults you "Impressive for a weakling".  

Tarjin will then tell you a tale, The Tale of an Outsider.  After listening you can click on Fenistrasza's skull and Tarjin says, "Go, take the skull to your easily impressed commanders.  Tell them of the mighty djaradin who slew the dragon it once belonged to."

Return the skull to Cataloger Jakes in Dragonscale Basecamp.

New WOW Twitch drop

From February 1st to February 5th 2023 Blizzard introduced a new Twitch drop which you could get if you link your battlenet account and your Twitch accounts and then watch 4 hours of Dragonflight content from selected streamers. The drop is an old trading card toy the Goblin Weather Machine - Prototype 01-B (Activate your personal weather maker (30 sec cooldown)).

This toy creates a personal, localised weather just for you including sun, rain, snow and if you are lucky even a rainbow. 

If you don't get the toy right away in WOW after you claimed it on Twitch this also happened to me. It didn't appear on live WOW for about 24 hours and I was a little worried that I would need to do a ticket, but the next day when I logged in the package was ready to open in the toybox. 

I would usually watch HazelNuttyGames but on this day my timing wasn't right and so to get this I watched Krakenlatte, shout out to her. It's a fun little toy I hope you managed to get it before the deadline and may the sun always shine on you :)

Dragonflight Launch - OOOPS!

It is currently 23:24 on 28th November 2022 and there is a small problem with the servers

A few hours later it was fine, well fine ish some people had some issues with the boat to the Dragon Isles but by the next day all was well and we could explore and enjoy everything Dragonflight has to offer. New Zones, New Quests, New Reps, New Pets, fishing and Dragon Riding. Its Cool!

Here Comes Dragonflight

The new World of Warcraft Expansion Dragonflight goes live 28th / 29th November 2022.  

Here are the launch times:

For me, in the UK, this will be at 11pm on November 28th.  I am really looking forward to having a whole new story and area to discover, plus some of the new battle pets look really cute.

First Dragonflight Twitch drop

The first Dragonflight Twitch drop became available on 15th November at 11pm (for UK) and you were only able to claim it until 19th November at 12:59am.  The drop is a previous Trading Card Game battle pet, the Dragon Kite.

In order to claim Twitch drops you must first link your battle net account and your twitch account.  Log in on battle.net and on the Account Settings page, pick Connections from the list on the left,  This takes you to a list of your connected accounts including Twitch.6

To be awarded the pet you need to watch 4 hours of WOW content on Twitch.  Provided the streamer has twitch drops enabled, watching their channel will count towards the pet.  You do not need to watch the same channel for the whole 4 hours.  You can check your progress by clicking in your profile in the top right corner and then Drops  Rewards from about half way down the drop down list.  When you get to 100% click claim and the pet will appear in your pet journal in game. 

The Dragon Kite is a dragonkin pet with the abilities Breath, Call Lightning, Volcano, Tail Sweep, Roar and Lift Off.  It is unusual because this pet is like an actual kite and it will be attached to you by a string when you summon it.

It also has a few different colours which it can spawn as, including green, purple, red/blue and blue/gold.

New Expansion Announced

On Tuesday 19th April 2022, at 5pm UK time, Blizzard announced the next expansion for World of Warcraft.  

Welcome to World of Warcraft: Dragonflight

In this expansion we return to Azeroth and level to 70 in the Dragon Isles.  There will be 5 new zones, four levelling zones and a new starter zone.  There will also be a new race, the Dracthyr and a new Dracthyr only class, Evoker with both a healer and a mid ranged dps spec.  Dracthyr have both a humanoid and draconic form and will have many customisation options.  They can also be either Horde or Alliance.  

Players will also be able to learn a new skill, Dragonriding and will be able to customise their own dragon mount.  This special mount will be used to travel and glide around the Dragon Isles.  Players will be able to add skills and customisations but we do not know yet how players will earn the upgrades.  Initial pictures and footage if these mounts look really nice.

Blizzard have also updated some other things in the expansion:

Talents - We are going back to having a talent tree, but you can have multiple saves of you trees and switch between them easily.  Each player will have two talent trees, one for their class and one for their spec. At max level you can expect to have picked two thirds of the talents.  This will hopefully lead to a few different viable play styles and you can pick what you prefer or what's best for what you like to do in the game.

Professions - Professions are having a complete overhaul.  When you have levelled your profession you will be able to specialise in a particular craft, e.g. a blacksmith could specialise in helmets.  You can then pick up work orders and do work for gold. If you don't have a profession you will be able to post a work order with commission and also some mats, if you have them, including soul bound or individual mats, and a player trained in that profession will be able to complete the order and make the item for you.  This sounds really good to me  but I have friends who are concerned it could be abused like at times the auction house has been.  However, I think it looks promising and that it could be good for both people who like doing professions and people who don't, provided the gear is relevant which is aways the biggest problem with profession gear.  In the past I have found that by the time you level you profession enough to make the highest level gear you no longer require it. 

Updated User Interface - Blizzard will be updating the User Interface on World of Warcraft.  Over the years equipment people use to play has changed.  Monitors are bigger and often widescreen and the UI has not kept up with these changes.  Many players use add-ons in order to move their UI and make it more how they like to play.  The new Blizzard UI will be much more flexible with many more customisation options for moving toolbars etc around.  It will also have an updated mini map and graphics.  This will be easier for new players and will hopefully lead to less need for so many add-ons.

Mythic+ - Mythic+ is a very popular activity in World of Warcraft and there are plans for a shake up in Dragonflight which has been met with a mixed reaction.  Dragonflight will have 8 new dungeons and mythic+ season 1 will include 4 of these new dungeons as well as 4 dungeons from old expansions, some of which may have not previously been mythic dungeons.  Then season 2 will include the other 4 new dungeons along with a different 4 dungeons from old expansions.  Some people have welcomed this saying it will keep it fresh as well as making it easier for new players to get into mythic+ without feeling behind, but others are worried it will be to much or they could get stuck having to run a dungeon they do not like.
